Magnatone Artist
Adam Slack
Starlite, Super Fifty-Nine M-80
Adam Slack is the guitarist and co-founder of The Struts, bringing a guitar-driven mix of glam, classic rock and modern swagger to one of Britain’s most energetic rock bands. Slack began writing with frontman Luke Spiller in 2009, laying the foundation for what would become The Struts.
Since then, his playing has been central to the band’s sound across records including Everybody Wants, Young & Dangerous and Strange Days, combining big riffs, open tunings and expressive lead work with a loose, live-first feel.
Onstage, Adam’s rig is built around multiple amplifiers that give his guitar a wide range of textures. Magnatone has become an important part of that setup, with a Super Fifty-Nine M-80 running through a Magnatone 4x12 alongside a smaller Starlite combo. His front-of-house engineer uses the different amps to move between heavier, wider guitar sounds and more focused tones throughout the show.
That combination of old-school rock & roll instinct and a carefully built modern live rig makes Adam Slack a natural fit for Magnatone.
