Designed in Collaboration with Slash
The Lil’ Viper was developed in collaboration with Slash, designed to deliver the feel and response he wanted in a compact Magnatone format. The circuit reflects that direction while maintaining the detail and touch sensitivity you expect from a Magnatone. A built-in headphone output allows the amplifier to be used for silent practice without sacrificing its core tonal character, making the Lil’ Viper equally suited for stage use, studio sessions, or late-night playing at home.
A Big Amp in a Little Box
The Lil’ Viper is an ultra-portable 8-watt combo designed by Slash and Magnatone Chief Engineer Obeid Khan to deliver the unmistakable Master Collection voice in a remarkably small format.
Built to sound full, bold, and authoritative, it is equally at home in the studio, at home, or backstage before a show. Finished in Slash’s signature Purple Python cosmetics with gold-accented hardware and a backlit Magnatone logo, the Lil’ Viper makes a striking visual statement.
Inside, the Lil’ Viper is built like a true performance amplifier. A single 12AX7 preamp tube and a matched pair of NOS 6AQ5 power tubes deliver 8 watts of push-pull Class AB output through a Magnatone Custom 8-inch ceramic speaker. A High and Low gain switch provides two distinct voicings, ranging from classic, slightly broken-up tones to a more saturated and aggressive response. The tone control is voiced to add high-end clarity while tightening the low end as it is turned up.
Designed for real-world flexibility, the Lil’ Viper includes a speaker-emulated 1/4-inch headphone output that mutes the internal speaker, along with a 1/8-inch line input for playing with backing tracks. Hand-built in the USA, the Lil’ Viper delivers big-amp authority in Magnatone’s most compact Slash combo to date.
